I'm back from a week in Phuket. The last time I was there, it was for a community service work after the tsunami tragedy. This time I went island hopping. It was a last minute trip. I was already dead broke, I only brought along 150 dollars from my emergency account. And this wasn't even an emergency but it sure was an experience. The snorkeling, canoeing, eating and Thai boxing bit were fun but honestly... not much. The beaches were infested with burnt human bodies. I think if a satellite camera were to photograph it from above, you won't see sand but just lump of pink and brown and probably some other colors from the umbrellas and beach towels. The best part of the whole trip had to be the Thai boxing. It was eye-opening. I did see some amazing performances by elephants too but I cried during that show. That was the weirdest bit. Watching my favorite animal entertaining humans. It was just too depressing for me. More photos in a later post.
