So what have I been up to these days? Well work and the Singapore Writers Festival in the weekend. Yesterday, Shikin and I went for an art house film screening, Last Life In The Universe, at the Singapore Arts Museum. The film was 2 hours long followed by an hour of Q&A with the screenwriter. It is about this obsessive-compulsive clean freak, Kenji, who thinks about commiting suicide all the time. There were some complicated love scenes, some gruesome Yakuza killing scenes, and some surreal high on pot scenes thrown into it. The scene that's still stuck in my head even after a day away from when I last watched it has to be when Kenji's brother got his genitals cut off and there was blood all over his thighs and legs. He was crying, sobbing loudly and was begging for his life but still got shot dead. That kind of caught me off guard. But it was still a good film though.
Apart from the SWF which ends today, I've done a whole load of procrastinating. I'm trying to finish up this embroidery of a prayer, something my aunt had asked me to do, which is taking me ages. If I'd not been procrastinating, it'd probably be finished weeks ago and I'd be doing something else like perhaps continue working on my zine or finish the Murakami novel.
Urgh. Procrastinating is stupid.
